Publications
Overview
Faculty and students in the Department of English edit and produce a number of publications. Inklings, which is not funded or published by the department but which is often edited by undergraduate English majors advised by a member of the English faculty, features undergraduate student writing, as does College Composition at Miami, which is used by faculty and students in the courses of our first-year writing sequence. The Department's publications include two national online literary journals, Oxford Magazine and Segue, both of which publish work by established and emerging writers, and the Miami University Press, which publishes two books of fiction or poetry each year. The production of these publications involves collaboration among faculty and students, and the events and readings that accompany their publication make for a vital sense of community in the department. Our three celebrated national publications also connect the department with the literary world beyond the Miami campus.
