International Search Director, Howe Center for Student Writing Professor or Associate Professor of English |
We are pleased that you are interested in learning about our extraordinary opening for the first Director of the Howe Center for Student Writing and tenured associate professor/professor of English.
We believe that this is a new kind of position. Our aim is to hire a creative, energetic colleague who will help us re-imagine the scope and nature of university support for student writing. We want a Director who will provide vision and leadership in developing strategies that enable Miami to engage with all the writing students do, not just their course-based writing. That's why the position is titled Director of the Howe Center for Student Writing, NOT Director of the Howe Student Writing Center.
Our new colleague will also be a member of Miami's exceptional composition and rhetoric faculty, of the Department of English. The only teaching responsibility is the one course that prepares the Howe Center's student consultants for their responsibilities.
The links below provide additional information. We would be delighted to answer your questions. Please contact Paul Anderson, Search Committee Chair, by email or phone: 513.529.6100. We'd also be glad to Skype, iChat, or ConnectNow.
