Women's Center

Resources and Services

The Women's Center mission is to "empower women for the benefit of all."

We work to facilitate connections between individuals, groups, departments, and the community with common goals and desires to improve the climate and environment for women and others.

This summer our "Brown Bag Lectures" focused on mentoring.  We held three workshops over the summer that focused on women mentoring women.  Dr. Lisa Rismiller from the University of Dayton facilitated the three workshop.  All three workshops were very well attended indicating that many women on Miami's campus are interested in both formal and informal mentoring programs.

The Women's Center has a resource library Suzanne Summers Resource Collection that consists of 2500 books written by women, about women, or relating to women's issues. Any member of the University community or the Oxford community can become a patron of the Women's Center Resource Collection. Books may be checked out for a period of 3 weeks. There are many women's journals, periodicals, DVD's, videotapes and audio recordings that are available for viewing or listening.
