The purpose of this project is to raise awareness about violence against women and encourage those who have experienced it to speak out. T-shirt making workshops take place at the Women’s Center during the same week that the Clothesline Project is on display. T-shirt making materials are provided at the workshops and everyone is welcome and encouraged to participate!

Each year since 2007, the Women's Center and the Miami University Libraries have co-hosted a Women's Read-In as part of Women's History Month.  In honor of the University's Bicentennial celebration and as a tribute to the writing and work of the late Suzanne H. Summers, the 2009 Read-In also featured a writing challenge around the theme of women's education, co-sponsored by the Roger and Joyce Howe Center for Writing Excellence.

The Women's Read-In typically takes place in late March in King Library, Instructional Materials Center (ground floor). Watch for more details during Fall 2009.
