The 2005 Women of Color Celebration and Luncheon will be held on Wednesday, March 2, from 11a.m - 1p.m. in the Shriver Center Multipurpose Rooms on the Miami-Oxford campus. Sharon S. Lee
Sharon S. Lee earned her B.A. from Oberlin College with majors in History and Sociology and with independent study in Asian American Studies. She conducted her graduate work in History at the University of Wisconsin Madison (focusing on Korean immigrant history), after which she worked as the program assistant for U.W.'s Asian American Studies program. In 2000 she was hired as the Staff Associate of the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign's (UIUC) Asian American Studies program. She has been at UIUC since, currently as the Assistant Director of the large and growing program. She served as the co-coordinator of the East of California (EOC) caucus (2001-2003 term) and has been involved in building networks among Asian American Studies faculty, staff, and students through EOC, the Committee for Institutional Cooperation, and state-wide in conjunction with the office of the Governor. She is the Midwest/Mountain/Canada representative for the National Association for Asian American Studies board and co-chair of the Oberlin Asian Pacific American Alumni Association.
