The Myrtis H. Powell Scholarship will be awarded to any full-time Miami University student, male or female, who has demonstrated leadership in creating an inclusive campus climate, and has evidence of involvement in community activities. This scholarship is open to all undergraduate and graduate students on the Oxford, Hamilton, and Middletown campuses.

To make a contribution to the scholarship fund, write a check payable to Miami University, designating Myrtis Powell Scholarship in the memo line, and mail it to Advancement Services, Miami University, 926 Chestnut Lane, Oxford, OH 45056. Myrtis H. Powell

This $1,000 scholarship is given in honor of Dr. Myrtis H. Powell, who served as Vice President of Student Affairs at Miami University from 1989 to 2002. Dr. Powell’s work at Miami and in the community exemplifies outreach to all, in order to build a welcoming enviroment, foster excellence in education, support students, and give back through volunteer service.

We are seeking applicants with similar contributions and dedication to the Miami University community. This scholarship is open to all students, undergraduate and graduate, on the campuses of Oxford, Hamilton, or Middletown.

The application is due January 31, 2008
