The minutes of the June meeting were approved.
Announcements
Personnel (Marsha McIntosh)
Marsha announced that Q & A sessions regarding benefits would be offered during the Fall Open Enrollment period.
Academic Personnel Update (Janet Cox)
Janet reported on new technology initiatives in the Academic Personnel office. Once in place, these technology improvements will allow for more records to be managed on-line.
Committee Reports
Networking Committee (Melanie Hoffmann for Amy Lauer)
Doug Curry volunteered to serve on the Networking Committee
Benefits Committee (Melanie Hoffmann for Amy Lauer)
Ted Pickerill volunteered to represent UPAC on the university Benefits Committee.
Communications Committee (Melanie Hoffmann)
Stephen Gordon and Karen O’Hara volunteered to help with the UPAC newsletter. It was suggested that a summary of the new parental leave policy be included in the next newsletter. New UPAC members will also be reported in the next newsletter.
New Business
UPAC By-laws committee: Mary Bausano, Scott Lessing, and Barry Zaslow volunteered to create a working draft of UPAC by-laws. As part of that task, this committee will also review the UPAC mission statement.
UPAC will explore the possibility of holding a joint meeting with CPAC during the upcoming year as well as holding one meeting on the Middletown campus.
