Miami provides a variety of web-based training tools that are free of charge to all faculty, staff and students on topics ranging from computer software packages to business and soft skills. Below you will find a list of the tools available to the Miami community and a brief description of what that tool offers.
Atomic Learning offers access to a complete training library of over 50,000 short, show-and-tell video training tutorials on over 205 of the most common applications. In addition to the online training content, Atomic Learning offers support for faculty developing and teaching online courses. It integrates with Niihka, allowing the embedding of video content directly into course sites and aligns to ISTE NETS standards.
Lynda.com (NO LONGER AVAILABLE)
A review team, comprising faculty and staff members, have identified Atomic Learning as Miami’s new online training tool, replacing Lynda.com. Miami’s 3-year contract with Lynda.com expired on December 31, 2013. More>>
