Network & Wireless

Miami is committed to providing an environment that promotes the application of technology in teaching, learning, research and administration. MUnet, Miami's Network, provides the physical infrastructure that connects Miami's students, faculty and staff to Miami's technology resources and the Internet.

There are three ways you can connect to MUnet:

  • Ethernet: Individuals on-campus (in a residence hall or academic/administrative building) connect to MUnet via an Ethernet plugged into an orange data jack on the wall.
  • MU-Wireless: Miami students, faculty, and staff in any building on campus or select outdoor areas may connect to MU-WIRELESS.
  • MU-Guest Wireless: Visitors to campus may request a temporary account to access our wireless network. Students, faculty, and staff should avoid using this network because it is slower and has other limitations.
