Teleconferencing

There are several conference options available to faculty and staff, depending upon size and complexity of the conference you wish to conduct. Click the links below to learn more about each option.

  • Ad hoc conferencing on a 7961/7941 Cisco IP Phone. This option allows you to simultaneously speak with up to six parties, including the initiator. You can initiate a conference by calling each participant or by enabling conferencing during a single line phone call. The conference initiator (person who establishes the conference) is the only person who can add or remove conference participants. If the initiator leaves the conference, no additional participants can be added (although the conference itself can continue.)

  • Arranging a conference call through the Miami switchboard (a.k.a. MeetMe Conferencing). MeetMe conference calls involve more than three people in three different locations. There is a maximum limit of 14 people for each type of conference call. In order to set up a MeetMe conference call, contact the campus operator (529-1809) at least 24 hours in advance.

  • MeetingPlace Express Conferencing. MeetingPlace Express is Miami's integrated voice, video, and Web conferencing solution. To display PowerPoint or other media, install the Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Express Add-In. Access MeetingPlace Express from http://meetingplace.muohio.edu.

For more information on any of the options, you may contact the campus operator at 529-1809.
