Miami Chat is an on-campus instant messaging (IM) service. It is recommended that faculty and staff use Miami Chat, instead of a commercial service like AIM, MSN or Google Talk for security reasons. Miami Chat traffic does not get routed through a third party and it is encrypted, keeping your messages from being captured by unintended third parties.
