Emergency Alert Services

Miami University has adopted a multi-modal approach to providing emergency alerts to the university community.  The Miami Emergency Text Messaging system provides alerts to faculty, staff and students via their cell phones and e-mail.  This service is managed jointly between IT Services and University Police.  The Telephone Alert System (TAS) is used to provide alerts through our VoIP broadcast system for on-campus telephones.  These systems will be used only in the case of imminent danger or campus closing.  Coordination for all emergency alerts is provided by Miami's Institutional Response Team.
