Mission Statement

The Digial Humanities Program (DHP)

The goal of the DHP is to demonstrate excellence and commitment in the following areas:

• Interdisciplinary work, including film & game studies, library sciences, linguistics, and art, as well as a general humanities field
• Creating, maintaining, and making information readable and accessible through digital archives
• Collaborating with students, instructors, and administrators to transform existing curricula and create new academic major/ minor program foci
• Fostering discussion to challenge and expand existing conventions for understanding and approaching research and the reading and writing of literature and information
• Working with faculty and students to facilitate the integration of New Media Studies approaches and ideologies into academic programs and writing based on need, interest, and resources
• Providing support and training to enable students and academic departments to continue the process of discussion in revising curricula and integrating digital media studies across various fields
