- We are in Upham, so to speak!
There is still lots of stuff in the corridors so it should make for
an interesting first week of classes!
- John Skillings has come out of
retirement and will be acting Provost starting July 1, 2010.
Congratulations to John!
- Congratulations to Vasant Waikar on
two counts. First, Vasant retired Dec. 31 of 2009, but will be
on campus the next three years teaching half-time through Miami's
"Retire-Rehire" program.
Secondly, Vasant was recently appointed as an Associate Editor of
the Journal of Statistical Theory and Practice.
- In other department news, Assoc.
Prof. Bob Noble resigned Dec. 31, 2009 to take a position with the
pharmaceutical company, Smith Glaxo Kline. We wish Bob the
best in his new endeavor!
