Talk by Frances Aparicio, Professor of
Spanish and Director of Latina and Latino Studies at Northwestern University.
Professor Aparicio is the author of the award-winning book Listening to Salsa: Gender, Latin Popular Music and Puerto Rican Cultures and co-editor of several critical anthologies on Latino/a culture, including Tropicalizations: Representations of Latinidad and Hibridismos culturales. Her talk will present the results of her research on Latinos/as of mixed national heritage in the city of Chicago. Reception to Follow. Free and open to the public.
