Tuition and Academic Fees

For Ohio residents entering the Oxford campus as a first-time, full-time freshmen and students relocating from the regional campuses enrolling full-time. Student's family must have a total family income equal to or less than $35,000. Interest and investment income will be considered where appropriate.

Apply for admission by February 1 and submit FAFSA by February 15. Financial verification will be required. For more information visit www.muohio.edu/access.

Harrison Scholars Tuition, fees, on-campus room and board For 2009-10, Harrison Scholars achieved on average 34 ACT (1530 SAT CR&M scores) top 1% of class.

Apply for admission and submit Honors Application by November 3.

 

Ohio Merit Scholarship $1,500-$3,000 Ohio residents admitted as new first-year Oxford campus students who scored a 29 ACT/1290 SAT (Critical Reading + Math) and have either a top 10% class rank or where specific individual rank or school decile is not provided, a 3.85 GPA on a 4.0 scale. Apply for admission by February 1. Award determinations will be based on official academic and testing information received as of March 1.
Non-Ohio Resident Merit Award $3,000-$7,000 Non-Ohio resident high school students entering the Oxford campus as new first-time full-time freshman, demonstrating exceptional academic performance with at least a 29 ACT/1290 SAT (CR + M) and have either a top 10% class rank or where specific individual rank or school decile is not provided, a 3.85 GPA on a 4.0 scale. Apply for admission by February 1. Award determinations will be based on official academic and testing information received as of March 1.
Miami Scholars Award $1,000-$5,000 High school students generally have 27 ACT or 1200 SAT I and rank in the top 15% of their class, with demonstrated academic merit and financial need Apply for admission by February 1 and submit FAFSA by February 15.
Miami Grant $1,300-$2,750 New first-year, Oxford campus, Ohio resident students entering fall 2009. Strictly based on need. Apply for admission by February 1 and submit FAFSA by February 15.
Miami National Merit Scholarships $750-$2,000 National Merit finalists who name Miami as first choice (and who are not receiving any other National Merit scholarship) Participate in National Merit competition and list Miami as first school choice. Award amount based on financial need.
National Achievement Scholars

$5,000 - semi-finalists

$10,000 - finalists

Finalists will receive $10,000 in grants/scholarships (documentation of finalist standing must be provided); semi-finalists, $5,000. Participate in the National Merit Competition and be named a National Achievement finalist or semi-finalist. For testing information, visit www.collegeboard.com.
National Hispanic Recognition $10,000 Finalists enrolling at Miami will receive $10,000 in grants/scholarships. Participate in the National Merit Competition and be named a National Hispanic Recognition finalist. For testing information, visit www.collegeboard.com.

Miami University Scholarship Programs(Merit/Need Based) $500-$10,000 and up Students demonstrating academic merit and financial need Apply for admission by February 1 and submit FAFSA by February 15.
Transfer student scholarships - Phi Theta Kappa $2,500 (in-state) - $5,000 (out-of-state) Transfer students admitted who are members of Phi Theta Kappa Be accepted as either a fall or spring semester transfer student
Transfer student scholarships (merit/need-based) Various (up to $4,000) Transfer students with demonstrated academic merit and significant need Be accepted as transfer student and submit FAFSA application
Transfer student scholarship - Pathways Scholarship $3,000 Transfer student transferring directly from an accredited Ohio community college, attended for 2 yrs. or earned 24 semester or 36 quarter hours with a 3.40 GPA. Be accepted as transfer student
Transfer student scholarship - Recognition Award $1,000-$2,000 In-state and out-of-state transfer students with minimum of 3.40 GPA on 12 or more hours of college level work. Be accepted as transfer student

For Ohio resident undergraduate students admitted and enrolled at the Oxford campus prior to fall 2008. ORS amount is based on full-time enrollment and the per-capita support Miami receives from the state of Ohio. OLS is based on need and on full-time enrollment. Returning students admitted and enrolled prior to fall 2008 who received the ORS and OLS will typically be eligible. Returning students FAFSA deadline is March 15.
