I need information about Federal Work Study.

The Federal Work-Study Program provides funding for jobs for undergraduate students who have financial need. Work-study appears on the student's award letter, but does not disburse to the Bursar account like a scholarship or loan would. The amount that appears on the award letter is based on working 10 hours per week and will be drawn down as the student receives their bi-weekly paycheck.

Work-study earnings are not calculated in the Expected Family Contribution (EFC) on the following year's FAFSA. Students must report their wages from all employers (including work-study earnings) as income on the FAFSA. Only work-study earnings are reported again on Worksheet C as an exclusion and therefore are not calculated in the EFC.

Students are responsible for finding their own job and registering with student employment before they start work. For information about finding a student job, please visit http://www.muohio.edu/studentemployment.
