Adopt A School is a tutoring program that engages Miami University students in the local community through education-based volunteer opportunities. Volunteers have the opportunity to work in a variety of settings, including K – 12 schools and after school programs, Adult ESOL classes, GED classes, and Montessori-based programs for adults with dementia. Adopt A School volunteers have the opportunity to make a difference in the life of a child or adult by interacting with people one-on-one, acting as a mentor, and helping them to achieve their academic and personal goals.

Adopt A School was initiated in the Fall of 1989, when the Greek Community came to aid the Talawanda School District in their efforts to maintain excellent educational programs for the community's students. Since that time, the program has grown to include all students, Greek and non-Greek, and has also expanded beyond Oxford to Hamilton, Middletown, and Cincinnati.
