Title: Tracking Long-Term Care Utilization in Ohio: September 2007 - June 2009
Principal Investigator: Robert Applebaum & Shahla Mehdizadeh
Other team members: Jane Karnes Straker, Ian M. Nelson,
Karl Chow, & Hallie Baker
Description:
This study will track long-term care use in Ohio by studying data from the Ohio Department of Aging (ODA), the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services Services (ODJFS), and the Ohio Department of Health (ODH) as well as facility level data from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). In addition, the study will use annual surveys of long-term care facilities (nursing homes and residential care facilities) to assess changes in the capacity, utilization, and occupancy of such facilities and will compare these and other trends with data from previous years. The reports will also present both the characteristics of consumers in each type of care setting and how their care needs have changed over time.
Funding Agency:
Ohio Department of Aging
