Description: Promoting Engagement Through the Arts will recruit local artists and Miami University art students volunteers to facilitate art activities with older people from the Oxford area who have dementia.

Artist facilitators will be trained on dementia care prior to working with the people with dementia. Currently, the Oxford area has no community service opportunities for artists and art students and nursing homes tend to have no art activities or ones of poor quality for their residents with dementia. The PETTA program was designed to fill both voids and create connections between the artists and people with dementia.
