| What is Ohio’s PASSPORT program
and who uses it? |

| PASSPORT (Pre-Admission Screening
System Providing Options and Resources Today) is a Medicaid
waiver program for persons aged 60 and older that provides
in-home services as an alternative to nursing home care. The chart below shows demographic characteristics of Ohio’s PASSPORT clients. In 2001, 80.3% of PASSPORT recipients were female, 74.6 were white, 77.8% lived in their own home or apartment. In 2001, the average PASSPORT recipient’s age was 76.7 (not in chart). |
