How many older Ohioans might be expected to need long-term
care in the future?
Population projections
suggest that Ohio’s
older, severely disabled population is expected to more than
double, while the moderately disabled population is expected
to nearly double between 2015 and 2050. By 2050 the number
of disabled older Ohioans will reach one million and the numbers
of severely and moderately disabled people over the age of
85 will more than triple to over 600,000.
