The costs of nursing facility care in Ohio vary considerably depending upon how the care is paid for. According to data from the Ohio Annual Survey of Long-Term Care Facilities- the average nursing facility self-pay daily rate was $94 in 1992 increasing to $148 by 2001 (a 57% increase). Over the same time period the average Medicaid daily reimbursement increased by 73%. Between 1992 and 2001 Medicare had the largest average daily cost increase at 217%. |
