Research Interests:

Social insurance and social protection programs; retirement systems; healthcare access and health policy in sub-Saharan Africa; restorative and supportive services for elders in developing countries

Samuel is a native of Thika, Kenya. He taught students in high school and in middle-level colleges in Thika and in Nairobi. He developed his interest in older Kenyans after the realization that many are marginalized not only at the local level, but also in the country’s national development agenda. Samuel is interested in acquiring the skills and knowledge necessary to bring the agenda of the aging population in Kenya to local and national leaders.
