Miami University requires all students to carry some form of major
medical insurance and most are covered under their family health
insurance plan. For those not covered under an existing family plan
there is a student health insurance plan available to all
students.
The student insurance plan covers hospitalizations, surgery, and
emergency care, prescriptions and major medical benefits for
treatment received to the extent specified in the policy. The plan
covers the policy year August to August and has a $300.00 deductible
per year. After the deductible has been met the policy pays 80% of
eligible medical expenses. A brochure outlining the plan and
