EDL 100: Career Development and the College Student

Course Description

Jamie and Dana Sitting at the computer screenEDL 100 is a 2 credit sprint (8-week) course designed to take you through the entire career development process. Students will take career inventories (the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and Strong Interest Inventory along with others), and go through activities designed to help them to learn about themselves and their unique interests and characteristics. They will then learn how to use this information to make informed career and educational decisions that are a good fit for them. Classes are kept relatively small in size to bring about an environment in which student-instructor interactions are maximized.

The course is offered each fall and spring, in both first and second sprints. This is a great course for students having difficulty choosing a major or finding a career path, and is typically offered to first and second year students.
