The pursuit of individuality and diversity in our society is more important than ever. In the Mosaic Living Learning Community, students explore other cultures and how they fit into a diverse society.
Explore aspects of diversity, inclusion, and social justice in a safe and comfortable environment. You will learn about the role that race, gender, sexual orientation, class, religion, nationality, and other identities help to create or perspectives of the world. The Mosaic community is supported by the Center for American World Cultures, the School of Fine Arts, and the Office of Diversity Affairs. You'll experience learning about these various topics through open dialogue, courses, as well as on and off-campus events.
courses IDS 151 Mosaic Seminar: Based on enhancing the Miami University Mission Statement, this required one-credit hour course will work towards improving the environment at Miami University by educating men and women for responsible, informed citizenship and meaningful employment. This course is held in Mosaic's residence hall; however, students will be expected to attend the American and World Cultures Lecture Series outside the hall. To promote reflection students will journal their experiences as part of IDS 151.
