Assistant First Year Adviser The AFYA serves as both assistant hall director and academic adviser to first year students in a residence hall of 250-380 students. The AFYA is supervised by and works closely with First Year Adviser to oversee the administration of a first year residence hall. The AFYA assists with development of a community that promotes living and learning through supervision, academic advising, programming and community council advising.

Graduate Resident Director The Graduate Resident Director (GRD) is responsible for the overall administration of an upper-class residence hall and supervision of the Resident Assistants of the residence hall.  Graduate Resident Director is responsible for shaping the environment and experiences by providing services and programs focused on the Office of Residence Life's Residential Curriculum, the goals of which [academic success, effective community engagement, intrapersonal development and cultural competency] and aligning those with the Office of Second Year Programs.

Commuter Center Graduate Adviser The CCGA is responsible for the overall administration of the Commuter Center and serves as the academic adviser to first year commuter students and the Evans Scholars. The Commuter Center Graduate Adviser is supervised by and works closely with an Associate Director in shaping the experiences of commuter students by providing services and programs that foster academic success, promote the multi-faceted development of students, and encourage responsible involvement in campus life and the Oxford community. 

Graduate Assistant for Living Learning Communities and Academic Advising Within the context of the Miami University Residential Curriculum, the Graduate Assistant for Living Learning Communities and Academic Advising works with staff and students in the Office of Residence Life to provide curricular based initiatives for students living in the residence halls. More specifically, the Graduate Assistant for Academic Initiatives serves as the primary academic adviser for a cohort of approximately 70 first year students, as well as works with 4-5 Living Learning Communities [LLCs].

Graduate First Year Adviser The GFYA oversees the administration of a small, first year residence hall (approximately 60-75 residents) and develops a residential environment that fulfills the goals and objectives of Miami University and the Office of Residence Life. This graduate student serves as both a hall director and an academic adviser to first year students living in the residence hall. The Graduate First Year Adviser is charged with shaping the environment and experiences of first year students by providing services and programs that foster academic success, promote the multi-faceted development of first year students, and encourage responsible involvement in campus and community life.

Technology Graduate Assistant The Technology Graduate Assistant assists with the oversight of all areas of technology for the Office of Residence Life. He or she reports to an Associate Director. This graduate student must have both the technical skills to support over 60 personal computers (Windows environment) and a small server used for web-enabled database management, and the interpersonal skills to work with and support a wide range of computer users. The Technology Graduate Assistant updates all web pages supported by the Office as well as maintains two listservs. He or she also provides ongoing training for staff in the Office in a wide array of topics.
