Commuter Center Staff
Graduate Adviser: Madeline Vitek, vitekmn@muohio.edu, 513.529.3431

The Commuter Adviser Graduate Assistant (CAGA) oversees the general operations of the Commuter Center. This CAGA has an office within the Center and is available throughout the week to assist commuter students. First-year commuter students and Evans Scholars will meet with the CAGA during their fall semester to discuss their educational goals and ambitions, adjustment to college and the University, and prepare for spring semester registration. She will maintain regular contact with first-year students to make sure that they are feeling comfortable academically and socially at the University. The CAGA does not academically advise upper-class students like first-year students, but does serve as a valuable resource and can refer students to other offices on campus.
The CAGA for 2009-2010 is Madeline Vitek. She is a is a second year graduate student in the Student Affairs and Higher Education (SAHE) Program. Madeline graduated from Seattle University. Her interests include baking Funfetti cupcakes, student development theory, driving, and generally loving life.
Commuter Assistants
The Commuter Assistants work with the CAGA to oversee daily activities in the Center. Commuter Assistants are upperclass students at Miami University who have been trained to assist commuter students, serve as resources, create a welcoming environment in the Center, and design programming and activities around the interests and needs of commuter students. They assist the CAGA with administrative responsibilities in the Center and help keep commuter students informed of upcoming events, opportunities, and deadlines on campus.

Courtney Davey (daveycj2@muohio.edu)

I'm a sophomore majoring in East Asian Languages and Cultures, concentrating mostly on Japan. In a nutshell: I'm learning Japanese and exploring the culture along the way. My minor is Linguistics, and I took four years of French in high school (so I may be rusty, but I could help with any French homework you may have!). I admit that I'm not entirely sure of the career path I want to take with my education yet, but if possible I'd love to somehow work it around my greatest passion: writing. I'm always up for a good story and love the challenge of creating one myself! I'm always willing to help out, so don't be afraid to come to me for anything. No question or problem is a stupid one, and I'll try to always be available.
