Alcohol Ordinances
“Remember, if a student breaks a law that also violates the University standards of conduct, that student may be held accountable by both civil authorities and the University. The University may, at its sole discretion, elect to pursue disciplinary action against the student at the same time as criminal proceedings, even if criminal charges involving the same incident are not complete, have been dismissed, or were reduced.”

You must be 21 years or older to consume alcohol
It is illegal to:
- Furnish alcohol to an underage person.
- Appear in public while intoxicated.
- Annoy others or endanger property.
- Have an open container of alcohol on any public street, sidewalk, alley, or park.
Alcohol and Sexual Decision Making.
- Make Sure You're the One Calling the Shots.
- Get your own drinks. Don't accept an open drink from anyone.
- Don't let your drink out of your sight.
- Don't let your guard down, even with an acquaintance.
- Don't let alcohol keep you from recognizing a dangerous situation.
- Make sure your body language is consistent with your verbal messages.
- Remember that alcohol and drugs interfere with your ability to communicate effectively.
- Communicate clearly. Don't be afraid to say no or physically resist.
- Leave if you're in a situation that is threatening or even just uncomfortable.
- Don't walk home with someone you just met.
- Stay Safe. Be smart. Know what to do when no isn't enough.
