Welcome Class of 2012 to your new community! The Summer Orientation and Registration Program is especially designed for all new first year students at Miami University. At Summer Orientation, you can expect to:
- Experience the process of course selection and registration process
- Register for Fall Semester Courses
- Meet other new and current Miami students
- Get your questions answered about college life at Miami.
Confirmed Miami students will receive an invitation to register for the Summer Orientation and Registration Program starting in late March.
The Summer Orientation and Registration Program online reservation system will be open to all confirmed students as of March 26, 2008. All reservations are on a first-come, first-serve basis.
The Summer Orientation program is a required program and is when registration for fall classes takes place. Please note that if you choose not to attend the Summer Orientation and Registration program, you will not be able to register for classes until you return to campus for the August Orientation and Registration Program.

Summer Orientation and Registration
A day-and-a-half program to help you register for classes and meet other first year students. *This is a required program for all incoming first year students. Please read all of the information provided on this website prior to registering for a summer orientation session.
Summer Reading Program
An introduction to the intellectual climate at Miami University. All first year students are asked to share in the experience of reading a book and participating in small group discussions. You will receive a copy of the book at Summer Orientation and read the book during the time between Summer Orientation and August move-in. Discussion of the book will take place after University Convocation during the First Year Institute.
