Academic Recognition

Students receive university honors based on term grade point averages. Dean's List honors are achieved by earning a 3.50 term average, with a minimum of 12 hours attempted for a grade. President's List recognition is achieved with a perfect 4.00 term average. The Mid-American Conference and CCHA recognize academic excellence through Academic All-Conference selections, based on academic and athletic performance. The MAC also recognizes student-athletes who meet the following criteria:

1. MAC Presidential Award - awarded to graduating seniors with a 3.5+ cumulative grade point average.

2. MAC Commissioners' Award - awarded to sophomore and junior student-athletes with a 3.5+ cumulative grade point average.

3. Highest Team GPA - awarded to the individual male and female team who earns the highest average GPA between the spring and fall semesters prior to the Awards banquet.

4. Most Improved Team GPA - awarded to the individual team who most improves

5. Bob James Award - This award recognizes two graduating seniors who have finished their athletic eligibility and have plans of furthering their education within graduate school. Miami nominates one senior female and one senior male student-athlete for this highest MAC academic award.

6. The Department of Intercollegiate Athletics annually recognizes a female and male student-athlete for the Pat Roudebush Award honoring Miami University Scholar Athletes of the Year. The Office of Alumni and Parent Programs recognizes graduating seniors who have maintained a 3.0 GPA throughout their collegiate career with a Senior Citation presented at the Senior Recognition Program and ICA Picnic.
