Leadership Principles for Faculty, Staff & Administrators
Leadership has been seen by many as something one can only learn from experience (the “school of hard-knocks”). New studies and theories demonstrate that it is considerably more complex. Regardless of which faculty or administrative position you assume, one can learn to be a better leader. Those who seek to provide academic leadership could benefit from looking at leadership from at least three perspectives; managing and preserving, relating and group development, and strategic change.
