LGBT Advisory Group
This group brings together staff, faculty, and students to focus on larger campus climate concerns. We work to educate the university community about LGBTQ concerns and to address injustices perpetrated against LGBTQ community members in policy or practice.
This committee began in January 2003 as a group of concerned campus citizens including faculty, staff, and students. Later, the group became a sub-committee of the All University Campus Climate Committee (The LGBT Concerns Committee). The committee advises the Associate Vice President for Institutional Diversity, in the Office of the President.
Our past efforts include:
- Domestic partnerships, implemented in June 2004
- Thematic sequence in Gender and Sexuality Studies
- GLBTQ Gala, bringing together students, staff, and faculty
- Opposite of Hate forum, standing up against hate, violence, and fear in October 2010
