GLEAM: Gay and Lesbian Employees at Miami

GLEAM is a support network for GLBTQ staff and faculty of Miami University. We work with Spectrum and Haven to provide proud role models for GLBTQ students-both personally and professionally. Additionally, GLEAM meets to address and act upon administrative or political issues that affect their lives and the lives of their families.

If you are a faculty/staff member on this campus and wish to connect with others, you can join the GLEAM listserv by sending a message to the GLEAM Listserv.

Information for Staff and Faculty

Domestic Partnership Benefits

Miami University does offer domestic partnership benefits for qualified same-sex partners. The affidavit for applying for benefits is located here.

Unlike heterosexual couples, Internal Revenue Code states that same-sex domestic partner benefits granted to employees may be taxable to the employee at fair market value. More information is available here.

GLEAM has an excellent summary of benefits available at Miami.
