How to Join Fraternity & Sorority Life
Interfraternity Council (IFC) 2010 Recruitment
The Interfraternity Council is the umbrella organization for recognized fraternities on campus. IFC consists of one representative from each fraternity and an executive board of 10 annually elected officers.
The Miami University IFC has been recognized as one of the most outstanding fraternal governing councils in the nation. Opportunities to become involved with IFC are open to all interested fraternity members. Fraternity Eligibility Requirements
- You must have completed 12 credit hours of classes
- Minimum GPA is a 2.5
- To be eligibile for Spring 2010, requirements must be met at end of the Fall 2009 semester; to be eligible for Fall 2010, requirements must be met at the end of the Spring 2010 semester.
- Special conditions apply for those who join a fraternity and seek to be exempted from living on campus in the residence halls. Click here for more information about the Fraternity Exemption.
Fraternity Recruitment Dates
- Open House - November 7 & 8, 2009; 1pm - 5pm; Fraternity Houses
- Formal Recruitment - January 13 - 15, 2010; 6pm - 10pm; Fraternity Houses
- Formal Recruitment continued - January 16 - 17, 2010; 2pm - 5pm; Fraternity Houses
