Find yourself half-way around the globe in the most recently discovered country on Earth. Known as the adventure capital of the world, New Zealand has one third of its land mass dedicated to their national park system. In a month’s time you will experience a taste of the lifetime of outdoor adventure that exists in what the native Maori people call Aotearoa. Trek through rugged alpine passes, venture into lush green forests, paddle past seal colonies in turquoise blue bays and reach the crest of a 50 foot pitch of solid glacial ice as you experience adventure in the world’s youngest country.

This international trip will expose you to the beauty and diverse environments of Kenya. Experience Maasai culture, explore beautiful wildlife preserves and national parks, and gain a better understanding of the unique history of Kenya. Enjoy some of the best wildlife viewing in all of Kenya in the famed Maasai Mara. From viewing big game to a brief home stay with the Maasai people and exploring the wilderness areas around the Great Rift Valley, this experience will allow you to discover the natural beauty of Kenya and to learn the history of its fascinating peoples. Learn about high altitude trekking as you climb Kenya’s highest peak, Mt. Kenya. Our 4-day traverse of the mountain, which straddles the equator, takes us through the lower equatorial rainforest and over gently rising moorlands to a world of scenic glaciers. You will have the opportunity to listen to lectures and engage in discussions with faculty members at the University of Nairobi. This trip offers personal engagement with people, wilderness and sustainability issues in an economically-developing nation.
