The Outdoor Pursuit Center Trip Program offers unique opportunities to the Miami University students, faculty, staff and surrounding community. Our trips are designed to provide a balance of challenging, educational, and fun activities in a wilderness setting.

Recreational Trips

Course Description

Students will spend five days in beautiful Big Bend National Park hiking, rock climbing, mountain biking, and paddling. Big Bend is located in west Texas and is one of the largest national parks in the U.S. It is often called three parks in one, as it is comprised of mountain, desert and river ecosystems. The group will be based in the Chisos Basin campground, and from there will venture out each day for a different activity.

Fee includes:

• All ground transportation
• All accommodation (campsites)
• Organized activities
• Entrances fees to National Park
• All camping/cooking equipment (Tents, sleeping bags/pads, etc)
• Meals/snacks when not enroute to destination
• Safety equipment (GPS, radios, first aid kit)
• Instructors

Not Included:
Meals while enroute to Big Bend, souveniers, clothing and items of a personal nature.

To Register:

Stop by the Outdoor Pursuit Center located on the bottom floor of the Rec center. Spots are first come, first served.
