Join a Team. Be a Free Agent.
So you want to play intramurals but don't have a whole team to
sign up? Well, become part of the fastest growing and most fun teams at
Miami, the Free Agents. We were able to place over 325 free agents
on over 30 teams last year and it will probably grow even more this year.
So enough bragging, here's what you do:
Here's what to do:
If you don't have enough people to comfortably field a team and would still
like to play, please be a part of our free agent program. You can sign
up either individually or as a group of people. Find a free agent form
at either Withrow or the Rec and fill out all the information asked. Please
fill out one for each sport. We will do our best to place you on a team
based on your preferred availability (day and time), skill level
(competitive, recreational), and division (men's, co-rec, women's).
Please indicate at the bottom of the form any friends you would like
to play with ("place me on a team with Mike Arnos please")
and make sure they also fill out their own form. Also, this would
be a great opportunity to indicate any additional info such as "I
prefer goalie" or "Played QB in high school."
This will help us make the best teams possible from all the free agent forms
we will get over the course of registration. Make
sure you do this by the registration
deadline of the sport you'd like to play!
Hopefully I've answered all of your questions. If you have any others that I didn't get to, please write me (Dustin) at fisherdm@muohio.edu. Good luck and I'll see you on the field!
The 06-07 Free Agent Extravaganza
June 5, 2007 -
Last year was a break-out year for the free agent program. We put
over 275 free agents on teams throughout the school year (less than 100
in 05-06) and had a good number of these free agent teams make it to the
playoffs and some even went pretty far in those playoffs. The men's outdoor
soccer team went undefeated in the regular season, the football team bested
80 other teams to get to the Elite 8 and the women's soccer team won both
the outdoor league and tournament. We're looking forward to another record-setting
number of sign-ups next year with two big free agent sports (football and
soccer) now taking place simultaneously at the beginning of the year. Congrats
to everyone who participated to make this a great year for free agents and
I look forward to doing it all again next year. As always, let me know if
you have any questions (fisherdm@muohio.edu).
