Instructor Training Program
Yoga Instructor Training
This training allows you to explore your own yoga practice through
learning: principles of alignment for each posture—how to bring awareness
to each part of the body in order to avoid common problems in postures and
to cultivate strength and flexibility, techniques for working with the breathe,
techniques for meditation and yogic philosophy and psychology. The training
also allows you to begin to learn how to teach yoga, by focusing
on: using mostly verbal cues and verbal adjustments to teach postures, using
props and modifications to individualize students’ yoga practices, sequencing
yoga postures safely and effectively, understanding the basic anatomy of
muscles, bones, and connective tissue, and how the postures and movements
of yoga affect them. Held in the RSC dry classroom.
