 Descriptions:

The official is directly responsible for the overall game situation and general environment surrounding the game. The official must maintain effective communication with players, coaches, and spectators. The official must exhibit a thorough ability to interpret rules, clarify decisions, and demonstrate proper mechanics. The official must be concerned with the general welfare and safety of both the participants and the spectators.

Supervisor in Training (SIT) $7.00 15-20
Prerequisites:

SITS are required to have current CPR/First Aid & Blood Borne Pathogens certifications in case of injuries during intramural events. Ideally, a SIT will have served in the role of intramural sport official and demonstrated leadership, organization, and teamwork.

 Descriptions:

SITS are students who apply to enter our Supervisor Development Program.  The purpose of the program is to develop leaders in the area of Recreational Sports as well as for other careers. Supervisors are directly responsible for the supervision of intramural contests and the evaluation and support of officials.  SITS are "veteran" officials who have demonstrated leadership, knowledge, and skill officiating more than one sport.

Prerequisites:

Office assistants are required to have current CPR/First Aid & Blood Borne Pathogens certifications for injuries that may occur during facility operations. Office assistants need experience using Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, and Adobe PageMaker.

 Descriptions: The Office Assistant handles the day-to-day operation of the Withrow Facility. They provide administrative support and assistance to the Assistant Directors and student staff.
Marketing & Promotions Club Sports Internship 5-10

Descriptions:

 Maintain and update the club sports website and bulletin boards.

Climbing Center: Works with the Student Climbing Center manager and Assistant Director to supervise and instruct wall participants. Maintains daily wall operations, while involved with safety and maintenance of the climbing wall. Assist with office and desk work. Maintain good public relationships with all patrons.

Outdoor Pursuit

Assistant Manager

Lead climbing experience is preferred.

 Descriptions: Works in managing customer service with equipment reservations, rental inventory, retail sales and resource library issues.  Maintains safety and maintenance of climbing center and assures quality of route setting on the wall.  Trains new and current staff with OPC operations.  Must have knowledge or willingness to learn about reservation and inventory management systems. Must be organized and able to direct the work of other staff.

 Descriptions: Student manager is responsible for the management of the youth climbing team program which takes place each semester.  Student manager reports to the assistant director of the outdoor pursuit center.  Responsibilities include the hiring and training of staff and management of staff during youth climbing team operation hours.  Student manager is also responsible for helping to conduct trips to Red River Gorge climbing experiences.  Manager must be willing to work with all other positions within the outdoor pursuit center and have solid personnel management skills. Must have some experience with working with children in a child care setting.
