Rental Equipment

Planning a trip?

The Outdoor Pursuit Center (OPC) can provide you with everything you’ll need to make your next outdoor trip a success. We can accommodate faculty, staff, students, RSC members and the community with rentals of a variety of camping, boating and picnic-type gear. For those who want to rent for longer periods of time can also check "long-term" rates ranging from 1 day to 30 days!

Stop by the OPC Rental Center located on the south side of the Recreational Sports Center on the ground level. We face the new Heritage Commons Student Apartments. We are open from 2pm-7pm Monday through Friday! Call (513) 529-1991 for more information.

Initiation of a Contract

Recreational Sports Center members must present their membership card to initiate a rental contract. Non-Miami University I.D. card holders must provide a Drivers License and a MasterCard or VISA card as a security deposit. Rental fees are due at the time a contract is initiated.

Reservation of Equipment

Reservations are taken up to one year in advance of the pickup date with payment of rental fees.
Reservations may be made in person or by phone with Master Card or VISA card number during business hours. Payment options include: Cash, Personal Check, Master Card or Visa, Bursar, Miami Payroll Deduction, MuLAA, or Interdepartmental Charge.

Cancellation of Reservations

The charge for canceling a rental contract is $10, if canceled at least 2 business days in advance of the pickup date. The full rental rate will be assessed if a contract is canceled less than 2 business days in advance = NO REFUND. Reservation date changes can be made if equipment is available for the alternate dates desired, and if the change is made at least 2 days in advance of pickup date. Rental date changes will be assessed ($10 service charge if 2 days in advance, 50% of rental if less than 2 days in advance). Refunds will not be given for not using the equipment for any reason. No exceptions for inclement weather. Refunds will not be given for reserved equipment that is not picked up. All refunds (except Visa/MC) will be processed through Miami University.

Charges (Late, Damaged or Destroyed Equipment)

Late equipment will be charged the daily rental fee plus a $5 administrative fee. Charges for dirty, damaged or destroyed equipment will be determined by the Outdoor Pursuit Center staff, and must be paid promptly upon notification.

Equipment

*Note: Rental Rate for 20'X40' Tent Canopy includes Site Inspection, Delivery, Set-Up, and Take-Down.

Outside of the Oxford area will require additional transportation and staff fees.

** Portable climbing wall

**Climbing accessories (climbing shoes, helmets, and chalk bags)

**Caving accessories (coveralls, helmets with headlamps, pads, gloves, and packs)

**Water accessories (life jackets, paddle jackets, whitewater helmets, floatation bags, etc.)

**Resource library ( books, videos, maps, and magazines)

NOTICE: All Equipment must be returned in the same condition as rented (ie: clean, organized, folded, etc.)
