AMENDMENT PROCEEDURES
The general procedures for amending education
records are as follows:
• Once a student identifies a record he or she believes to be inaccurate or misleading, the institution
must decide within reasonable period of time whether to amend as the student has requested.
• If the institution decides against the amendment of a student's record, they must:
- inform the student of his or her right to a hearing.
- allow the student to insert a statement in his or her record if, after a hearing,
the institution maintains its position against the requested amendment.
