Students have their highest level of scheduling priority during
their registration window.

A variety of holds may be placed on a students record that will
restrict registration.

Students are scheduled on the basis of earned hours. Earned hours
are listed under the title: Undergraduate Credit Summary to Date,
at the end of their DARS. They cannot use the "Earned Hours"
posted at the beginning of their DARS since it includes the courses
for which they are currently registered.
4.
Students are limited to scheduling no more than 17 credit hours
during the first sequence of registration - with the exception
of Engineering and Applied Science students who have an 18 credit
hour limit.

There may be scheduling conflicts and or errors when students
do not have a declared major. Priority in courses is given to
students with declared majors that require the course. Some majors
may need to be declared early due to the nature of their requirements.

Academic Advisors are knowledgeable resources for helping students
make decisions about a students major/minor/thematic sequence,
for checking a students degree progress, and for identifying ways
to use course selections to enhance career options.

Students tend to be more successful in getting the courses they
need to meet requirements when they are flexible.
8.
Students may register for a Miami Plan Foundation course for either
Standard letter grade or Credit/No Credit.
9.
It is the student's responsibility to meet the course requirements
in The Miami Bulletin. Many
academic departments will use prerequisite checking on some courses
for Spring registration to ensure appropriate registration for
their courses.

There are several reasons why a student may not be able to register
for a class.
CLOSED
SECTION
- The course section has reached the enrollment limit.
RESERVE
CLOSED
- Course seats are reserved for students in a particular major
or class.
MAJOR
RESTRICTION
- Course is open only to students in a particular major.
PROGRAM
RESTRICTION
- Course is open only to students in a particular program.
CORQ_REQ
- Course has a required co-requisite.
Students must register for both courses simultaneously.
PREQ
and TEST SCORE ERROR
- Course has prerequisites that the student does not meet, including
courses in progress.
