Graduation with Distinction-
Students pursuing a baccalaureate degree can graduate with distinction by achieving, at graduation, a cumulative GPA of 3.50 (cum laude), 3.75 (magna cum laude), or 3.90 (summa cum laude), provided that they earn at least 64 credit hours from Miami University.
Students pursuing an associate degree can graduate with distinction by achieving, at graduation, a cumulative GPA of 3.50 (cum laude), 3.75 (magna cum laude), or 3.90 (summa cum laude), provided that they earn at least 32 credit hours from Miami University.
For students who earn fewer than 64 hours from Miami toward a bachelor's degree or fewer than 32 hours from Miami toward an associate degree, the cumulative GPA used at graduation to determine eligibility for honors is the lower of the following averages:
(1) the average for all courses taken from Miami OR
(2) the combined average calculated using the grades from all college-level courses
Graduation with University Honors-
Contact the University Honors Program Office, 102 Bishop Hall, 529-3399, for information on requirements necessary to be admitted to the honors program.
Graduation with Departmental Honors-
Contact your major departmental office to determine if departmental honors are offered in that department, and if so, what requirements need to be fulfilled to have departmental honors awarded.
President's List -
The President's List recognizes undergraduate students who receive a 4.0 GPA for a semester of 12 or more credit hours attempted for grades (A+ thru F). If you have questions concerning your eligibility for President's List, contact the Office of the Secretary, 205 Roudebush Hall, 529-3610.
Dean's List -
The Dean's List recognizes undergraduate students who receive a 3.50 to 3.90 GPA for a semester of 12 or more hours attempted for grades (A+ thru F). If you have questions concerning your eligibility for Dean's List, contact your Divisional Dean's Office.
