Mission Statement; What we're about.

Our mission is to provide graduate education grounded in the understanding of basic perceptual, cognitive and motor processes and how these principles impact on problems in human factors and ergonomics. To this end, our program focuses on understanding the factors that impact productivity, health, safety, and comfort, with the goal of improving the fit between people and the systems and technology with which they interact. There are many opportunities for students to learn about the elements of physical and cognitive ergonomics, with an emphasis on their integration and the tools used to study how they interact. Students learn about the fundamental tools of human factors and ergonomics by using them to address actual problems.

1. Practice and Research in Human Factors Entails Understanding Cognitive, Perceptual and Motor Processes

2.Human Factors is Taught by Learning to Solve Actual Problems

3. Our Students Acquire Technical Skills that Permit Them to Interact with Engineers and System Designers.
