How to Apply for Financial Aid and Admission to the Program

  Good news!
  • There is no need to apply for financial aid.
  • Everyone who is accepted into our doctoral program is provided with a graduate assistantship.
  • The assistantship includes a stipend of roughly $10,000 per calendar year and a tuition waiver (including a waiver of out-of-state surcharges if applicable).
  • We are committed to providing financial aid for at least four years. Typically, we have been able to support students beyond their fourth year of graduate study.

The graduate assistantship involves about 20 hours of work under the supervision of a faculty member. Students may assist in research or in teaching. Advanced students may have the opportunity to teach small sections of undergraduate classes in their area.
