Living in Oxford

Oxford Community
Miami University is located in Oxford,
Ohio, a classic college town of about 8,500 non-student
residents. This offers a relaxed atmosphere for graduate
study. “Uptown” Oxford, adjacent to the
university, has numerous specialty shops and local
eateries along red-brick streets. Oxford is located
near both Cincinnati and Oxford, combining the advantages
of a classic college town with access to the amenities
of a big city.
Oxford is located 35 miles north of Cincinnati, a
city located on the banks of the Ohio River. Along
the riverfront are stadiums and an arena where you
can attend sporting events and concerts, as well as
Bicentennial Commons, a riverside park. Cincinnati
is also a center for the arts.
Oxford is located 45 miles southwest of Dayton. Known
as the “Birthplace of Aviation,” Dayton
gives you the opportunity to explore aviation from
past to present. You can visit the grounds of Wright-Patterson
Air Force Base and tour the Air Force Museum. And
every summer, people flock to the city for the Dayton
Air Show. Dayton is also recognized for its arts scene.
