Education:

Theoretical Orientation:

Experiential Constructivism

Recently Taught Graduate Courses:

Personality Seminar, Experiential Personal Construct Psychotherapy Module and Practicum, Humanistic and Existential Modules

Research Interests:

I am interested in experientially based constructivist approaches to personality and psychotherapy, particularly personal construct psychology. I focus on the use of these approaches for understanding the experience of persons in distress as well as facilitating personality growth in long-term psychotherapy. This work is primarily addressed to understanding and treating severely disturbed persons within a psychotherapeutic framework.

Oppportunities for Graduate Students:

Most of my research is co-authored with current or former graduate students. I am currently the editor of The Humanistic Psychologist, and graduate students have the opportunity to assist with administrative duties.
