Alumni

Alumni of Miami's clinical program have sought employment in a variety of settings, including universities, community mental health, private practice, hospitals. Many graduates have obtained positions allowing them to combine clinical service, research, and teaching. They report that Miami's pluralistic model helped prepare them for such varied roles and allowed them to develop their own theoretical orientation.

Liz Morey, a 2002 graduate, reports that "having faculty with different approaches was valuable in gaining exposure to a diversity of ideas. I really appreciated the opportunity to experience different perspectives and come to my own conclusions."

Ayesha Shaikh, a 2002 alum, stated that "the major strengths of the program included the individualized training that could be constructed with the module and practicum system. This enabled me to choose a course of study that fit for me. Additionally, I think that the clinical training and supervision offered by faculty more than adequately prepared me for a competitive internship experience."
